Motorbikes
It's like bagpipes, you either hate it or love it. I, Colin, LOVE it, Jill HATES
it (well, Jill doesn't HATE anything, but let's just say she's not joining in the fun!).
I've been a member of Devon Advanced Motorcylists since the mid 1990's, and thereby also a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. At that time I became both Chairman of DAM and also one of
the first two Senior Observers. The latter, along with general Observers, are that happy band of people who take
bikers out on the road and show them how to ride like an Advanced Motorist (Police style), and get them ready to
take their IAM Advanced Motorcycle test. It's fun - really! What's more, after the course you are much more
likely to stay alive, and there are of course other side-effects, like cheaper insurance, meeting up with a
great bunch of people dedicated to biking, organised trips, and so on.
Then there is a relatively new group linked to a local church, the "Upton Vale Bikers". This came about simply because there are so many bikers in the church
membership, so what better way to while away a few hours with friends than on your bikes? Plus there is just the
greatest T-shirt design in the world which suits the group just fine:

To see more photos of the UV-Bikers group out and about having fun, take a look at their albums
in the photo gallery.
